Darren Shapland
Chair

Darren has unparalleled experience in the retail sector. He is Chair of Topps Tiles, NotOnTheHighStreet.com and Moo Print. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Ferguson and Chair of their audit committee. He previously served as Chair of Sainsbury's Bank, Poundland Group and Maplin Electronics, and was Non-Executive Director of Labrokes. Darren was Chief Financial Officer of Sainsbury's from 2005 before being appointed Group Development Director in 2011.

Paul McAndrew
CEO

Paul is the founder of Aerofoil Energy and pioneered aerofoil technology for the refrigeration industry. He is a display-refrigeration specialist with over 20 years of experience in the commercial sector, including as Business Development Director of Norpe UK. Over the past 15 years Paul has launched several UK start-ups in the refrigeration and technology sectors and co-founded a distributed computing platform.

Nicholas Burke
Commercial Director

Nicholas was involved at the start of Aerofoil Energy's development and arranged four equity rounds to fund our rapid growth. He now oversees the company's strategy, planning and marketing. Nicholas has a background in investment banking and government audit. He previously headed up the global project evaluation work of the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), and has advised many Multilateral Development Banks on investment evaluation.

Emily Baty
CFO

Emily worked in the fund management industry for 14 years, having qualified with Ernst & Young as a chartered accountant. She was Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Hermes Investment Management Ltd managing a variety of large operational projects. In her previous role as Finance Director of Hermes' real estate business she was responsible for all financial management, reporting and planning.

Dean Frost
Non-Executive Director

Dean is a retail refrigeration specialist with 25 years' experience in the UK and international food retail sector. He is the current Managing Director of A1 Engineering Solutions and former Managing Director of Space Engineering Services. Dean has advised and supported some of the world's largest food retailers with product innovation and selection, whilst working with some of the country's leading refrigeration contracting businesses.

Company Accountant

Melissa is a chartered accountant and has 17 years' experience in the private sector with responsibility for management accounts and internal audit.

MaryAnn Downing
Account Executive

MaryAnn has six years' experience in customer service for the refrigeration industry, and supported Aerofoil Energy throughout its foundation years. Previous to this she spent seven years as Education Facilitator at the David Lewis College.

Claire Alkaya
Account Executive

Claire worked in a senior support role in the aerospace industry for seven years as Customer Service Coordinator for Senior Aerospace BWT. She previously spent time working in Turkey teaching English languages.

Bob Hurley
Business Development

Bob is former Group Head of Refrigeration and HVAC&R at Tesco, where he achieved significant results across a broad range of engineering disciplines including refrigeration, HVAC and lighting. As part of our aerofoil team, Bob is applying his extensive experience of delivering engineering solutions in a pressured retail environment.

John Austin-Davies
Technical Specialist

John is highly respected as one of the most experienced and technically accomplished engineers in the refrigeration industry. In 2018 John was awarded the prestige RAC Gold Award, for his lifetime contribution to tackling major environmental issues in the cooling and refrigeration industry. John joins Aerofoil Energy as our technical specialist and is a key member of our Vortex product development team.

Steve Griffin
Project Management

Steve has 35 years' experience as a refrigeration and air conditioning consultant and design engineer for various businesses. He has managed many large-scale projects for UK food retailers, and currently project-manages the roll-out of aerofoil technology across our client base.

Title: Operations Manager

Location:

Bollington, Cheshire
UK-based client visits required from time to time.

Description:

We are seeking a full time Operations Manager to support the day to day running of the team and business as we continue to take on new clients. Responsibilities are as follows:

Team and processes

- Management of the operations team
- Ensuring robust procedures are in place and fully documented for all operational processes
- Office management
- Co-ordinating and updating the wider team to ensure good communication and understanding of all operational matters

Supplier and stock management

- Managing quality assurance internally and across the supply chain
- Oversight of existing suppliers: manage supplier performance, undertake regular assessments on quality control and ensure suppliers are meeting KPIs
- Take on of new supplier: manage new supplier set up processes
- Managing the operational implications of any international sales particularly in new jurisdictions
- Stock management

Clients

- Manage the take-on process for prospective new customers
- Act as first point of contact for clients on all day-to-day operational matters

Other

- Management of health and safety processes
- Preparation of reports to the board and senior management

Requirements:

- Educated to A level
- Excellent communicator able to deal with senior procurement retailers and senior supplier staff
- Experience of managing a delivery-focused team

Remuneration:

Competitive package including performance-related bonus for key delivery targets
